Company Overview
Founded in 1960 — South Florida’s Longest-Standing Commercial Property Manager
Sharpe Properties was founded on November 9, 1960, by Barry Sharpe — an American businessman raised in Havana, Cuba, who left shortly after Fidel Castro’s rise to power. With entrepreneurial resolve forged in one of history’s most dramatic political upheavals, Barry built Sharpe Properties into a cornerstone of South Florida’s commercial real estate landscape.
More than 65 years later, Sharpe Properties remains family-owned and operated, managing over 500,000 square feet of industrial, retail, office, and residential property across Miami-Dade and Broward Counties. No South Florida commercial real estate firm has deeper roots in the communities we serve.

Owner-Operator Leadership
Sharpe Properties is run by Barry Sharpe, Mason Sharpe, and Brian Sharpe. Each has a defined role across the business, and all three have been involved in the portfolio for decades.
Barry Sharpe founded the company in 1960 and remains active in day-to-day property operations, working alongside Brian on maintenance and construction across the portfolio.
Mason Sharpe, Esq. is General Counsel and Vice President of Property Management & Leasing. Admitted to the Florida Bar in 2000, Mason handles lease negotiations, tenant disputes, and property management decisions with the judgment of a practicing attorney. That combination of legal training and direct ownership sets Sharpe Properties apart from non-attorney property management firms. Mason is a member of the Florida Bar, the American Bar Association (ABA), and the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC).
Brian Sharpe is Vice President of Leasing & Construction. He joined Sharpe Properties in 2000 and has handled leasing across all managed properties since then. Brian oversees construction, repairs, and maintenance at each location and manages the company’s public and governmental relations. He holds a Real Estate Broker’s license, is a Certified General Contractor, and is a member of ICSC, the Commercial Industrial Association of South Florida (CIASF), and the REALTOR Association of Miami-Dade County.
As owners and operators of many of the properties in our portfolio, the Sharpe family manages every third-party property the same way we manage our own: with a direct stake in performance, compliance, and long-term asset value.
